APW - Illinois, Bunn Special, Grade 163A, 23J 60 Hour Elinvar, Type IIB marking, gold-filled OF original Model 118 case, "Illinois Bunn Special 23 Jewel 60 Hour" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, mono-metallic balance with blued Elinvar hairspring, interrupted ray pattern nickel damascene, s#5456749. Total production of the Grade 163A with Type IIB marking is believed to be approximately 1800 made.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, numerous scratches to balance cock inside regulator spring and below regulator spring, area of finish loss and abrasion to inner portion of barrel bridge adjacent the regulator adjustment screw, otherwise bright lustrous surfaces with some scattered micro-fine scratches; near flawless dial with minuscule edge nick at setting lever, minuscule pinpoint surface nick near center, few mild micro-fine and small fine scratches; excellent hands; case shows light wear, small ding to band at 2:30, strip of wear to brass to band, thin slivers of wear to brass to bezel; somewhat brassy bow pivots freely, crown shows little wear; glass crystal with small scratch near bottom edge.
